This blog is an account of student experiences as part of a music therapy study abroad program offered through the University of Kansas, posted over the course of their trip and immediately following the trip. From June 30-August 5, 2015, twelve music therapy students from three different universities are collaborating with the music therapy program at Mahidol University College of Music to provide music therapy services in and around the Bangkok area. Becca Kurtz
Sawasdee ka! My name is Becca Kurtz and I am a senior music therapy student at KU. My primary instrument is Voice, but I love playing the ukulele as well. I am fascinated by Asian culture, so it has always been a dream of mine to visit Thailand. I was born in Wichita, KS but grew up in Overland Park KS. I have been to Germany, Austria, The Czech Republic, and Italy, but this is my first time in Asia. I have already learned far more than I expected to on this trip, and it's only about half over. I cannot wait to see what's in store the last few weeks!
