Greetings from Thailand! My name is Haley Crane, and I will be
a senior in the music therapy program at UMKC. I was introduced to the
profession about five years ago, and continue to fall in love with the beautiful
combination of music and helping people.
This program in particular is also a way to feed my hunger
for adventure. I traveled to Italy in 2011 for a choir tour, which began my
travel bug. I returned two and a half years later to see Austria, Germany, and
different parts of Italy, and just over a year ago, I went to Jamaica with JAFSP
to do volunteer music therapy work. When I found out about the Thailand trip, I
knew I had to go—I couldn’t pass up the combination of music therapy and a new
culture. I have already learned so much about myself, music therapy, and
working with a different culture, and the journey isn’t over yet…
